Yoga is very popular. We’ve been exposed to images of professional yoga teachers and practitioners in really difficult postures that appear completely effortless. Most of us know that yoga isn’t effortless, in fact, it’s really, really difficult and the majority of us will never be able to do these postures we see promoted.
For people who are not very strong or flexible, or have confidence with their balance, there are preliminary yoga poses, with the use of props like the wall, a chair, or a strap, that when done regularly, can prepare our bodies for doing the more traditional and difficult poses.

The Silver Yogis method is to use these preliminary poses with props, slowly and safely building up core strength, flexibility and balance to move into unassisted traditional poses. For some, just regularly practicing the preliminary yoga poses can be rewarding enough.
